The Pembina Valley Humane Society is located in the city of Morden, southern Manitoba. We are a non-profit animal shelter that is primarily volunteer-run. The mission of PVHS is to promote humane and compassionate animal care through sheltering, adoption, education, TNR, pet therapy, and community outreach. These initiatives ensure the proper care and safety of companion animals in the Pembina Valley and beyond.
Starting 20 years ago, our early days involved saving dogs and cats from euthanasia, by fostering them in the homes of our founders. Today our facility can hold a total of only 30 animals but with the help of our amazing fosters and our partnership with PetSmart on Kenaston, we have been able to increase the number of animals we take into our care and continue our commitment of finding pets the families they deserve.
Until there is a time where animal shelters are no longer needed, we will continue to advocate for all animals, by educating our communities, and working tirelessly to be a safe haven for the unwanted and abandoned. However, we can’t do it alone!
