WINNIPEG ANIMAL SERVICES

Our team has lots to celebrate from happy adoption stories to tearful reunions when a lost pet finds their way home or our shelter dogs heading out for afternoon adventures with members of our community through our doggie date and business buddies programing, everyone we meet at events, and the countless conversations our team has with Winnipeggers who care as much about animals as we do.  

Our animal health team completed hundreds of spay and neuter surgeries, helping to reduce overpopulation. Our Animal Services Officers brought pet licensing into the community with mobile licensing, giving residents access to licensing right in their community. And every day, our dedicated team provided extraordinary care to animals in need.

When you license your pet, you help us care for animals across our city. This year we’re building on the things that are working well, with more opportunities to get shelter dogs exposure in the community, more ways to make pet licensing easy and accessible, more opportunities for residents to access veterinary care, stronger community partnerships, and new ways to help Winnipeggers provide responsible, quality care for their pets.  

To everyone who adopted, licensed a pet, volunteered, shared our social media posts, took a dog on a Doggie Date, welcomed a Business Buddy into their workspace, attended one of our events, or stopped to talk with our team in the community: thank you.
